WWW Wednesday idea is from MizB at A Daily Rhythm and is currently hosted by Taking on a World of Words. I learned about it from NottsReader.

All you have to do is answer the three following questions:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish?

What do you think you will read next?

I am currently reading:

Three people, one road trip, and so many queer feelings. A polyamorous romance about changing your life.

Allie and Matt’s happy open relationship means they’re both free to find hookups. When Allie gets duped by a date, though, she’s found with someone else’s cheating boyfriend. Ugh!

Meeting Noelle by helping her leave the guy isn’t the night Allie expected, but after the women bond over drinks and a seriously dysfunctional tape gun, Allie’s hesitant to say goodbye. It’s weird; she doesn’t normally like-like people who aren’t Matt.

Matt’s questioning whether he’s entirely straight, and he hopes to find answers on his and Allie’s impending road trip. But he’s cool with bringing her new maybe-crush along, especially since he and Noelle keep finding things in common. And staring into each other’s eyes.

Noelle lost her demanding job right before her boyfriend cheated, and she’s looking for the next one—preferably back home. Allie’s fumbling charm and Matt’s flirtatious humor, however, make her wonder if her life compass needs fixing.

Late-night talks on Texas highways, first kisses, and hotel confessions might change a lot… if if there’s a next step for Noelle that isn’t leaving.

I just finished:

Aldred, the dreaded Earl of Acca, is at it again. After discovering a new kind of fighting arbor, Aldred rips open a gateway to another world called the Primeval. The earl’s goal? Release the arbor, lock in an easy kill, and show off some supposed prowess as a slayer of unusual big bads.

After all, how hard can it be to kill a freaking tree? Super hard, as it turns out.

The earl unleashes none other than the Contagion, an uber-evil wizard in tree form. What happens next is nothing less than a disaster. The Contagion races through the portal, steals the life force of local children, and then escapes back into the Primeval. No one wants to chase after the cruel wizard, even if destroying the Contagion means healing the injured innocents.

Cue our hero, Lincoln, and his fiancée, Myla.

While everyone else runs away, Myla and Lincoln break into the Primeval with a single goal: hunt down the Contagion. Unfortunately, the couple’s only guide to the strange realm is Peli, a trickster monkey who may be in the Contagion’s service. And that isn’t the only possible treachery that Myla and Lincoln face, either. Powerful forces could be deceiving our favorite couple about the very nature of who they are and what they want.

Talk about tricksy.

A butch lesbian parolee. The pretty pansexual nurse who got away. Is this their second chance at a happily ever after?

Finn is finally out of prison, which is great. Having no job, no car, and no place to sleep except her cousin’s couch? Not so great.

Plus, her felony theft conviction isn’t doing wonders for her employment prospects, so she can’t afford her migraine meds without the public clinic. The last thing she ever expected was for the gal who stole her heart to come walking down that clinic’s hallway: Vivi, the manicure-loving nurse who spent two years fighting the prison system to get proper medical care for her patients, including Finn.

Finn could never believe she imagined the attraction and affection between them. But acting on that in prison, especially as nurse and patient, had been a serious No Way. She’s had eight months to get over Vivi, who abruptly left her job without saying goodbye. Finn is over it. Honest! It’s totally and completely fine.

Except Vivi, here and now, doesn’t seem fine. And Finn couldn’t live with herself if she didn’t try to help.

Is fate offering Finn a second chance? Or is finding love as likely as finding a job with health insurance?

A high heat contemporary F/F romance novella with a guaranteed HEA. Detailed content warnings are available in the book’s front matter and on the author’s website for those who need them.

I think I am reading next:

When trouble hits close to home, Allie Grecco hits harder…

After earning her spot on the back end of Soldiers for Hire, ex-Army Ranger Allie Grecco has finally found her true place in life… until she discovers that not all members are asked to uphold the same code of honor.

When her roommate’s father goes missing, leaving behind a bloody taxi cab and a strange trail of clues, Allie’s prepared to do whatever it takes to bring him home dead or alive. Even if it means disobeying her CO, Daniel Bennett, who makes the stakes crystal clear: go solo on this case, and lose your new pack of comrades. And this time, for good!

In a vigorous chase for the truth, Allie reveals secrets kept hidden for years. Secrets that shed light on the dark side of her friend’s family. Secrets that suggest a murder…

Allie’s ready to pull the thread and let the web of lies it surrounds unravel—forget the consequences. She’s got nothing left to lose.

Pulling On the Thread is book three of Katy Pierce’s Allie Grecco series. A page-turning thriller of one woman’s mission to find the truth—vigilante-style.
