My thoughts
The Case of The Ruby Curse is different than the other books in the “Samantha Rain Mysteries”. Arizona Tape concentrates on the characters in this book. We get to see the progression of the slow-burn romance between Lilith and Samantha.
Tape also brings in parental death, new relationship confusion, family dynamics, and a treasure hunt. Tape balances the romance and real-life pain without going too dark. The mystery is background fodder.
I love seeing the culmination of the back and forth between Lilith and Samantha even if it went fade to black.
The Case of the Ruby Curse is a lovely romance. Tape makes it worth the wait for Lilith and Samantha.
