Review: Accidental Honeymoon by Miranda MacLeod

Would you marry a woman you hate for a life changing inheritance?

Cover Design: Victoria Cooper

Monica’s business has been hit hard by a global recession, her ex-girlfriend is selling the house out from under her, and the hot handy ma’am, Ray, who was hired to fix the place up turns out to be the most annoying woman on the planet. Could things get any worse? Actually, yes.

When a misunderstanding leads to everyone assuming Ray is her girlfriend, going along with the mistake would grant her grandmother’s dying wish. What neither of them count on is Monica’s grandmother finding her fake girlfriend so charming that she would rewrite her will. Now the unlikely couple stands to inherit a vineyard in rural New England that could change their lives.

The only hitch? They have to get hitched. And since Monica is a professional wedding blogger, they’ll have to make it the wedding of the century, while convincing two million followers that they’re madly in love.

No problem, aside from the simple fact that they can’t stand each other. There’s a good chance the whole thing could end in disaster, but could these enemies find true love along the way?

What a series of misunderstandings in the Accidental Honeymoon! Holy sugar it is like a comedy that just happens to have romantic sparks in the beginning. I kept thinking of those buddy movies with Walter Mattheau and Jack Lemmon, where all they do is fight and it takes you a minute to realize, “Hey, they really like each other!” Then your heart gets all warm and fuzzy…yup this is what Miranda MacLeod has done.

I just happen to live in the areas that MacLeod writes about so it makes an even sweeter connection for me. (If you want to read something really funny about the backstory, check out MacLeod’s best friend’s, T.B. Markinson, blog about it.)

I just have to hand it to Ray because MacLeod puts her through her paces. I think I almost peed my pants laughing so hard when Ray has a precious moment with Mr. Fluffles. There is also another moment, but the first real time is freaking hilarious. MacLeod provides many moments like this…a perfect movie right here folks!

Accidental Honeymoon is one accident you want to be a part of at any time of the year.

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
