Review: Lou’s Discovery by Karen Nappa

Follow in the footsteps of a young soldier as he discovers his most important mission.

Cover Design: Karen Nappa

Synopsis:

Lou escapes the poverty in Peaceful, a small town in rural Ohio, the only way he knows. Like his father, he becomes a soldier. Leaving town, and his best friend behind, is challenging, but Lou focuses on getting through life day by day – living but never truly alive. Not particularly happy but also not completely miserable, Lou works hard and earns the respect of both his buddies and his commanding officers.

When his army captain introduces him to BDSM, Lou finds a real goal and purpose in his life. A purpose he didn’t even know was missing. Now, Lou is a man with a mission.

Lou’s Discovery is a short story about a military man discovering his particular brand of the BDSM Lifestyle as we follow Lou at various life-changing events in his military and personal life. It can be read independently and has a Happy for Now ending.13

I can never ever say this enough: I adore Karen Nappa and the responsibility they take as an author writing about BDSM and the fetish world, which some of you probably call kink. Nappa has put in the front of Lou’s Discovery a dialogue with the reader to explain about consent and that this story is not a teaching tool. Safety. Consent. NOT a how-to story!!! (laugh)

On a personal note I am going to use the word “fetish” versus “kink” as what some might think of as kinky, I think of as normal sex (smile). Now I have you thinking…lol. I am actually not even a huge fan of the word “fetish” here, but until I come up with a word I like then this is what we will use.

Nappa takes us around the world of fetish and gives brief glimpses into some of the activities which go on behind closed doors or for some up on a stage. I actually recommend people do this when they first start exploring their sexuality. Nappa does this beautifully for Lou. There is plenty to see, but this is a short story so I do not want to give anything away. BUT…you might be bookmarking some pages.

Karen Nappa says that if you want to follow Lou’s story, read “The Quinn Family Saga” series coming soon. Nappa also wrote: “Lou and you — our readers — will have to wait for his HEA until Finding Trouble (The Quinn Quartet Book Two)”. I am so getting on that train. (hehehehe…get your mind out of the gutter!)

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
