Review: Black Magic Voodoo by Nikki Landis

Cassie Howe is a descendant of one of the famous Salem witches.

Occult Fiction

Synopsis:

Each year Samhain and the festival of the dead marks the new year, an end to the old while embracing the new. As Cassie begins the month-long celebration, she encounters a dark and sinister presence that threatens the balance of her world. Joined by a cast of unlikely heroes, Cassie will confront her darkest fears and seek to find a rogue witch who kills without mercy. Does Cassie have enough courage to stand up against true evil before it’s too late?4

I’m in love! Ssshhhhh! Don’t let my other authors know!

First let me give a huge shoutout to Victoria Cooper Art. I am a cover ‘ho and this had me at the first look. I did not read the blurb, I just put it on my wish list. Lust was immediate and intense. The covers for this series are just gorgeous. Hubba hubba.

I was then extremely lucky to then get an opportunity to get an ARC – holy sugar and roll me over I was getting a new book girlfriend! Little did I know this was going to become a permanent relationship.

Nikki Landis brings the thrills and the chills with Black Magic Voodoo. (laugh) Yes, I went for the easy adjectives here because they aptly apply. I love witches and anything related to Salem as I live in Massachusetts and have been there. Landis gives a great foundation basing the premise on 13 witches whose family still live and practice today.

Landis immediately starts with the tea and drama. Who is the enemy? Who is a pod person? Who are all these men just showing up in Cassie’s life? Suddenly there are secrets everywhere she turns. Landis has created an addiction already for more in me.

In just this book there have been multiple battles, blood, and zombies! I am so excited for more!

I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Did you know that lesbians are the first to die when the zombies take over? Seriously! I am still banging my head over this. I’m sharpening my crossbow skills.
