This Rookie Wants My Job… And I Want His Body

Synopsis:
Do you know what the worst thing is when you’re a superstar quarterback?
It’s getting an arm injury.
Luckily, I can still play, the pain is tolerable.
But a rookie quarterback who just joined our team is threatening to steal my thunder.
When I see who my new teammate is, I can barely believe my eyes.
It’s the guy me, and my best friend was messing around with a while back.
So we’re not only ex-lovers, but we’re also rivals for the same position.
I swore I’d focus on my game and not mess around with anyone else.
But, I can’t get this guy out of my head.
In the end, it looks like I’ll be forced to choose, but, how?
Want to be a Judge?
Van Cole brings something a little different to this threesome romance in The Rivalry and it is really good. There is of course what Cole does well: sex. (laugh) We have Jett and Gabriel’s awkward yet cute courtship. There is also the drama of Jett’s injury and the status of his arm, his future, and how Gabriel fits into all of it.
Then Cole throws in some secrets and they are some doozies. I read a lot of books and I am trying to remember if I read about these guys in a previous book, because Cole writes the story as if we already know about their first hookup and how Sully and Jett are together. I have to be honest, I do not remember so I kind of felt like I was behind the eight ball at the beginning of the story. I looked back to the beginning of the book to see if I was supposed to have read something before this one and it did not say.
I liked the whole story, especially the surprises that Cole threw in. My only “complaint” if one can call it that is if I was supposed to read Jett and Sully’s story first I would have so I would have felt more connected to the character of Sully.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
