Callie went to Blackwater to find out who murdered her parents and cursed her and found so much more.
Callie writes a paranormal blog tracking down any leads that can tell her who murdered her parents and cursed her. She hears of some mysterious murders caused by witches in Blackwater Falls and immediately sets up house.
While out tracking a siren, she instead comes across a gorem and more trouble than she was looking for. On her way back from the horror of almost dying, she ends up waking up naked in a fireman’s bed. Oops.
Now she is under the attention of three ridiculously hot firemen while on the trail of leads which keep ending up with naked at the firehouse. She is getting more attention than she wants, but then she is on a trail that is heating up.
Authors Lacey Carter Andersen, L.A. Boruff, and Laura Greenwood have teamed up to bring us “The Firehouse Feline” series and kick it off with Feline The Heat. (laugh) I have to admit I am so glad I do not have Carrie’s problem as I do not want to end up naked in any spot, but especially not the places she does.
Feline The Heat is all about the mystery of the town, the firemen, Carrie, and where the golem came from. It is a solid mystery with many backstories that could take a couple of books to unravel as each character seems to have secrets. This includes the town itself and the supporting characters we are introduced to so far.
I am loving this mystery. It does end on a cliff-hanger, but more of a “hmmmm” cliff-hanger than and “oh my god” cliff-hanger. There is no hanky-panky in this book even though it is listed as a reverse harem book. So far, The Heat is all about the mystery and it actually works so far (laugh). Let’s see what Flames brings us as I am actually excited to see where Callie was running off to.
